USE YOUR VOICE

JOIN OUR MOVEMENT

We are a people-powered grassroots campaign.

We are grateful to have the support of community members and volunteers who believe we deserve elected officials who will work for us, not cater to special interests. There are many ways to invest in our movement to fight for a California that works for all of us.

The Issues

In the Assembly, Mia will fight for a California that will prioritize people over profits. Her voice will not be compromised by Fossil Fuel, Charter Industry, Corporate, Developer, Police Union, or Health Insurance special interest money. Let’s invest in a California that works for all of us.

ENDING GUN VIOLENCE

As a survivor of gun violence, Mia is committed to enacting common-sense gun safety measures and investing in mental health, intervention and prevention programs.

EDUCATION EQUITY

Mia has stood up for our public school students, parents, and teachers and will always fight to fully fund schools and create a safe, equitable environment for all students.

A CALIFORNIA NEW DEAL

Time is running out to address climate change meaningfully. We need bold action NOW. Mia supports a ban on state oil drilling and a Green New Deal for California.

Universal healthcare (AB 1400)

Mia will fight for a single-payer system that will provide universal health care, including mental health services, prescription drugs, vision and dental care, and experimental treatments.

HOUSING IS A HUMAN RIGHT

Mia supports investing in more affordable housing, public housing, and local rent control. She will fight for tenants' rights and stand against violent sweeps of our unhoused neighbors.

REIMAGINING PUBLIC SAFETY/CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM

Focusing on a services-led approach will offer better alternatives to crisis response with more social workers and mental health crisis responders.

JUNE 2021

AS political campaigns begin to ramp up for the 2022 midterm elections, Filipino American candidates are harnessing the momentum of the tumultuous last year and a half of COVID-19, the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes, and the (still-occurring) reckoning of law enforcement’s relationship with communities of color.

Assembly district 52

California's 52nd State Assembly District encompasses Glendale, parts of northeast Los Angeles, and East Los Angeles. Our District includes Cypress Park, Eagle Rock, El Sereno, Glassell Park, Highland Park, Lincoln Heights, Mount Washington, Atwater Village, South Glendale, and parts of Echo Park and Silver Lake.

It is a vibrant working-class, majority-minority, overwhelmingly progressive District with diverse communities. It is primed and ready to send a bold, progressive voice rooted in the community to Sacramento. A voice like Mia's.
